Asamuah Gyan diagnosed with Malaria, less likely to play Senegal

Black stars captain Asamuah Gyan was admitted to the hospital in the remote town of Mongomo, eastern Equatorial Guinea, while he was with his teammates for the sake of the African Cup of nations.

There, he was diagnosed with malaria, according to Ghana’s Football Association. This situation makes his participation in the Ghana/Senegal game less likely.

Ghana plays in the African Cup toughest group with teams like the 5-star Algeria and the tough Senegal. South Africa is also one of tournament’s promising teams, according to analysts, and it will play in the Ghana group.
